“My life was getting smaller and was impacting who I am and where I wanted to go.” WOW ,that hit home. I am a stay at home mom and struggle with ,” Do I dare do anything for me?” I don’t know what “it” is yet but I know there is something. I qustion myself if I am just a mom will my kids respect me? If I do something just for me will they resent me? I want to be proud of myself and I want my kids to be proud of me. It is a constant struggle and I am sure I will figure it out one day. After reading this article though I think I will be a little more true to myself instead of just pleasing and taking care of everything. It is in probably everyone’s (in my house) best interest. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on kind of a touchy subject!

Very well said. I am always scared of things changing. I like to stay in my comfort zone and because of this I know that I miss out. I try ‘new’ things, but they are things I know I can do. Good for you that you have decided to stop just sitting back and watching. Whatever your dreams may be, dream big and I hope all your dreams come true.

Well sounds like your ready for Carly’s.”It’s the stuff that dreams are made of”…..i’m mid 40’s and said the same thing. …Sounds like to me u were being a good mother…Change is good, we’ve never left a void in our youth, there a plenty up and coming to feel it. Like tracy chapman filled carly’s and Carole’s, and now corrine baily…i don’t feel i play it safe, I play it smart….i have more to lose, and need to secure my future…like the song say’s…Freedoms just another word, for nothin else to lose….ONNyxd

Making that decision, choosing to pursue something that is for [i]you[/i] and no one else, is something I (and many women) struggle with a lot. I hate change and have grown very fond of my safe harbor. Life, however, has a way of turning things upside down at exactly the point where you’ve decided “This is it. This is where I will be for the rest of my life.” It’s exciting and nervewracking. Sara, I hope you achieve your dream and that it is beyond what you ever thought it could be.
