I use the old style shaving cream foam in the cans. Yes it is a little messy and funny looking. All I do is apply it to the sun burn like I was going to shave that area then let it sit....I leave it on until it has all soaked in or its driving me batty then just wash it off with cool water...don't ask me what it is but it pulls the heat out and keeps your from blistering. I have used this several times on myself and my daughter as we burn easy and when we burn its bad.

What about beer?

I remember being a kid, and my father would rub beer on our sunburns. It did take the sting out, but I have heard that the alcohol actually dries the skin out? I just know that I felt better, and not from drinking it either.

I like owning an aloe plant. It looks nice, isn't hard to maintain, and I use it for sunburn whenever I need it. I would encourage anyone to buy one: just break the leaf in half and the gel is inside.
