Any foster parents here?
Any foster parents on this board? DH and I have been fostering for over 2 years now, with a total of 4 placements.

Dh and I have been fostering for the last 7 years. We have had 13 placements and at the moment do not have any in home. Due to two dd's being pregnant (one is a former foster we adopted) we needed to devote energy and time to them.

DH and I have been fostering for 10 years. We have had 42 placements. We have 3 current placements in our home at this time. Two previous foster kids live with us also. Would love to adopt these two but mom is still in the picture.

We were foster-adopt parents for 2 years. The first child was 4 and was nearly 5 when we finalized. Just last fall finalized his sister. We just got her new social security card TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! So it's REALLY official. Done with fostering now.

we have been fostering since May 2010 & we are on our 2nd placement. Our first placement was a set of 3 (2 girls, 1 boy) which was made crazier b/c we had only 1 room available. We now have a 3 yr old boy. Someday when the right placement comes along we'd love to adopt but until then we are happy with doing foster care. Not easy by any means, but definitely worth it!

We are foster parents as well. We have been fostering siblings (ages 5 and 7) for a little over a year now. It is a lot of work, but I love it. They should be heading home soon. We are preparing to take more kids in the future.

I'm not a foster parent or a parent for that matter, but I just wanted to say a big 'thank you' to you all! It makes me so happy to hear about people giving their time, love and energy to these children =)

Former foster parent here - we got our dd when she was 3, adopted her when she was 8. Lou-zee-ana system states they are only supposed to be in the system no longer than 18 months or parental rights are severed. Bull. She is 25 now and we have a darling 3 year old grandson & a darling 3 month old granddaughter. We only had 3 placements before we could no longer tolerate the way foster parents were treated by the "system". Poor kids yanked around on whims. Lou-zee-ana politics at its finest.

I was a foster child, now a foster and foster/adopt parent. We've had around 50 children over 8 years. We are currently adopting again..this time a sibling group of 4.

I also wanted to thank all of you foster parents for caring and loving these children.
May the Lords blessings be upon you.

Since my last post, we are now adopting the baby I mentioned as well as 2 girls. It has been an emotional roller-coaster through the process of fostering, but it is all so worth it!
