Dutch Apple Wedges
While oven is heating make the crust. Mix the flour and sugar and cut in the butter until crumbly. Press into an ungreased round pan. Really press it hard down into the bottom.
Bake the crust for 25 minutes.
While the crust is baking, peel, core and thinly slice the apples. Mix the sliced apples with the remaining filling ingredients. When the crust comes out of the oven immediately pour and spread the filling mix over the crust.
Make the crumb topping. Mix the flour and brown sugar and cut in the butter until crumbly (like the crust) and immediately sprinkle it around on top of the filling mixture.
Bake the entire thing for 30 - 35 minutes.
After it's cooled, if desired spoon the powdered sugar glaze (recipe follows) over the top and let stand until it sets. Slice it like you would pizza, keep it stored in the frig, serve along side vanilla ice cream if wanted. Enjoy it!
Powdered Sugar Glaze:
1 C sifted powdered sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 Tbsp milk
Mix ingredients together and slowly add more milk if needed until drizzling consistency.Last edited by TexasPeanut; 09-03-2008 at 11:49 AM.
