I got a good deal on a new dryer!
Our dryer finally gave up the ghost last night. DH spent last evening doing internet research on dryers.
We talked it over and decided that we'd see about getting a new Maytag dryer.
We went to a big-box appliance store, and we were just about to place the order for a Maytag Brava:
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...2&ddkey=Search
But then, the store told us that they couldn't get one delivered to me till February 12th.
We left. And we decided to look around a little more . Next we went to a local appliance store.
They had told us they would beat the big box price, but delivery would bring the total up a bit.
We looked around the store before making a final decision.
They had this dramatically marked down (last unit in this color):

They also had the pedestal marked down.
I don't care that the color doesn't match my washer.
My final price for the higher-end dryer, pedestal, tax, and delivery only $30 more than the Maytag Brava (after tax) with no pedestal.
It'll be delivered next week.Last edited by Early Bird; 01-23-2010 at 11:55 PM.

Thanks, everyone. And, with 7 cu ft, even a king-size comforter will fit in there!
