I plan on reading it on the computer and only printing out the pages I want. Should make some great reading material. l8eebugg 01-10-2009, 05:21 PM Thanks so much. Great find. Gardengal18 01-10-2009, 08:49 PM Thank you! Contrary Housewife 01-10-2009, 09:52 PM Thanks for posting this. I read through it in less than an hour. I can see why it is free. I mean, she has some great advice for dealing with the current economic panic (you need an EF, pay down your CC, don't withdraw your retirement fund) and a lot of answers to very specific questions about IRAs, credit card debt, buying or selling a house, and college tuition. None of this is new info, and it is aimed at the financially clueless, but it doesn't go in-depth enough to be really helpful. Case in point, she says you need an EF for 8 months of expenses, but doesn't really tell you how to achieve that. She says to pay off debt, but leaves it up to you to figure out how. Anyone who is knee deep in debt now is just going to think "well that's nice, but I can't afford to save anything right now". I thought about forwarding the link to a clueless friend, but really, I don't think this is going to help her much. YMMV |
