I tried needlepoint years and years ago. I wasn't very good at it.
I love cross stitch, but am not sure how easy it is to pick up on my own.
Is it all that hard?

Sara, I have been crosstitching for years and I knew absolutely nothing about it in the beginning. I had no previous experience in anything that required a needle and it was easy for me. My first project was a 3 color bear that measured 3" X 3". My second, which was a month later, was a Wedding Sampler for my dh's sisters' wedding. It was 22 colors and measured 14" X 22". It took a while, about 2 months off and on, but I have been going wild ever since.

Start with something simple and work your way up. You should have no trouble at all. NOTE: Finding the time is the most difficult challenge!!!:D

Crosstitching is fun and easy. The trickiest part is making sure you have counted your spaces correctly as you stitch. Go for it but beware,it can be addicting.:D

And be sure to cross all of your x's in the same direction!

Yes, it's easy! :) The hardest part for me is the counting part. It can be confusing when it's small, but if you stitch one too much or made a mistake, you can just undo what is wrong and start again.

Good luck!:) Have fun!

It's easy !! As with anything, the more you do it, the better you'll get at it.....

Thanks gang. I have seen some really beautiful kits, but have always been afraid to spend the money and not grasp the craft. I have always been intimidated by things like cross stitch, needlepoint, sewing, quilting and yet, think nothing of jumping into crocheting or knitting.
I think in a couple of weeks I'll look into a sampler or ornament to try. (am currently working on a crocheted blanket, so will wait until I am done with this)
I'd love to be able to do something nice.
