Some friends and I have been doing OAMC and we've mostly been "assembling" things in freezer bags vs cooking the dishes and then freezing. I'd like to make beef stew, but I don't think raw potatoes would freeze very well. If I did cook up some stew in the crockpot, do you think I should cook for a little bit shorter amount of time so the potatoes wouldn't be too mushy when reheated, or do you think it doesn't really matter? We're trying to be frugal, so would like to use a little more potatoes instead of more beef. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

The potatoes will turn black if you don't at least blanch them.... cook just a couple of minutes in boiling water before freezing..
