I want to make huge fluffy biscuits!

Made some last night that ended up being about a 1/4 tall. :(

the tasted very good, but were hard. If I had left them in the oven a moment longer they would have turned into crackers.

Can anyone help?

I want to make a huge breakfast for both our families before C'mas and would love to have a recipe for huge fluffly biscuits.

TIA

I make biscuits by using Self rising flour, crisco and buttermilk.
I don't measure anything though :(

Mix the flour and crisco till it's all crumbly and add buttermilk.Don't add to much to where it's runny just so it's mixed.
Flour hands and make biscuits.Put them on a greased cookie sheet or greased cast iron skillet. These biscuits are huge once done. Add a dot of butter over each one while still hot.
