I am planning on making my ds a felt board.
I am trying to think of what material to use to make the objects I will stick onto the felt board. I don't want them to be felt.

I have considered using photo copied actual pictures from his storybooks and contact papering them and a piece of velcro on the back. I also thought about photocopies on foam core.

Any other suggestions?

TIA,
Sara

When I taught preschool, we used to back pictures with sandpaper. It sticks to the felt. I also liked using the stiffer and heavier felt for the pictures and the softer variety for the board itself. I also always had a magnetic board in my classroom. Used a large auto drip pan like you put down in the driveway. Attached it to the wall with screws. Would either use pictures with magnets on the back or cute magnets, in differnt shapes, that I found at places like Dollar Tree or at yard sales. Kids played with them for hours and the magnetic board was great for teaching matching skills and other concepts.

Thank you. The magnetic board is an idea I hadn't considered yet.
I don't want to use felt for the pictures only because my patience for cutting felt is not too good. *LOL*
The sandpaper idea is good too.
