View Full Version : LFL Club: Anyone taking their measurements? Sara Noel 12-27-2002, 01:57 PM I will be measuring myself. (chest, waist, abdomen, and hips for starters) I will also have Gabe take a picture of my big ole self. LOL (sorry ladies, I will not be posting this for a loooong time.) aylasmommy 12-27-2002, 02:07 PM How cute! hehe I did that too! I was able to see one from quite a while ago, and I noticed a HUGE difference in one spot :D It's really fun and gets me motivated for some reason to measure and take before pics..makes me want a really good after pic ;) I measure my thighs, biceps, waist and hips..sometimes calves too but I don't really care what they are as much as the rest. Darlene 12-27-2002, 02:15 PM Ouch...I'll probably do the measurements but before and after pics...:yikes: Sara Noel 12-27-2002, 02:21 PM I'll probably post mine eventually, but no one else needs to post or take pictures. I don't even like the thought of me looking at a recent picture of me. LOL I'm only doing it as a motivator. AmyBoz 12-27-2002, 02:25 PM Dh bought me a new scale for Christmas that has a body fat monitor, so I'll be taking measurements for that. SewCrafty 12-27-2002, 03:21 PM I'll do this too, but you all won't be seeing me! :D I may post a recent pic only because I said I would after Heaven posted hers. I'll take measurements for my own sake. doodlebug 12-27-2002, 03:48 PM I'll take measurements on January 1 and then probably once a month to see how much I've changed. I have some recent pictures but I don't want to post them until I've lost all the weight and have an "after" picture. homesteadmamma 12-27-2002, 04:45 PM Hmmmmm I wonder if there is a tape wide enough. :toothy: I'll take measurements also but won't be posting them until I'm at my goal weight. Then you might also get a picture!! judith 12-27-2002, 05:05 PM I bought a 9 foot quilter's tape measure for my measurements for my other weight loss group's 'score tracker'... Just took my measurements this morning.. here they are Waist {at navel} 42.5; Hips 46.5; Right Thigh at top 12.0; Bust 47/45 {size 44 B}, Abdomen at widest point 43.5; Neck 15; Bicep with arm extended 12.2; widest part of forearm 10 in... Results: Body fat 39%; 149 Lean Weight, 35 lbs Body fat... heaven 12-27-2002, 09:10 PM I am not taking measurements, i don't want to scare myself, you all see my most recent photo. GOD, that is scary, i will post another one when i am getting thin, maybe half way through. then at the end a full body. That is scary. Phaedrae 12-27-2002, 09:12 PM I will take measurements and post them Right now without measuring I can tell you this chest 44, waist 42, hips 46 I'm a pear...hehe cinnamon 12-27-2002, 09:13 PM I didn't take any measurements before my recent 20 pound loss, so I won't start now. I'll use the scale and my pant size as my measurement. :) I also don't have an official "before" picture, but I'm sure I can dig something hideous out of the photo album. CountryMom 12-27-2002, 09:17 PM I will be taking measurements as well. Like most of you I will not post them now, but may post them when I get close to my goal weight. It will be fun cheering each other on. learning 12-27-2002, 10:03 PM I'll have to think about if I'm brave enough or not.... will this really motivate me? Leiloni77 12-27-2002, 11:06 PM I need to go buy a tape. Measurements can be motivating, much more so than actual weight so that you can see where you lost it! Good Idea Sara! aylasmommy 12-28-2002, 01:57 AM A good thing about taking measurements also is that you can see improvements even though the scale might not show you lost much, or even that you gained weight :D (muscle being more dense than fat, weighs more or something to that effect) Going by pant sizes is also a good way of measuring improvements :) Also as a side note, try leaving a pair of pants that fit you, but are maybe just a bit too tight or you don't really wear them...put them up away and after you've lost weight(10 or 20 pounds maybe?)...try them on and you'll feel the difference SO much when they are finally baggy on you...that was the only thing that finally convinced me I had lost the weight..And it was so drastic to me because I had left them put away for sooo long too, so it wasn't like I got used them slowly getting baggier...well I hope this made sense :D Michelle 07-15-2005, 08:12 PM I took my measurements yesterday  I wanted to see if I'm getting smaller even though the scale isn't moving. I've been really good about hopping on the treadmill or doing WATP lately :) |
