vs walking the distance? Gabe is most often driving and likes to get the closest spot. When I drive, I park quite far from the entrance.

View Full Version : How often do you try to get the closest parking? Sara Noel 12-28-2002, 02:24 AM vs walking the distance? Gabe is most often driving and likes to get the closest spot. I am much less stressed out and happier to park far away and just walk :) CountryMom 12-28-2002, 10:05 AM If the kids are with me I try to park close and near a cart corral. It is just easier than trying to corral 3 little ones through the parking lot. If I am by myself I will park farther away. The exception is at college where every spot is a long way away, then I go for the closest. Michelle 12-28-2002, 11:09 AM I like to park far away--it's one of the few things I do consistently to get a little exercise. :) homesteadmamma 12-28-2002, 11:11 AM This is one of the few areas I really work at. I love parking far away and walking. I've finally talked dh into doing the same thing. MJsLady 12-28-2002, 12:24 PM I usually park far away. Now that dollar tree is in the same lot as wally, I go early, park where its easy to leave dollar tree (the spaces there are really small and if the lot is full its hard to manuever) and walk from dollar tree to wally, then put my wally stuff in the car and browse dollar tree! judith 12-28-2002, 12:30 PM Glad to know I'm not the only one who's dh parks as close as he legaly can... {was going to put that under Who Sabotages your efforts, but this works too} I will park close if there are no carts in the farther cart corrals... my girls are all to likely to run on me... other than that, I park at the first available spot I find that isn't in another Zip Code and has a cart nearby... Speaking of which.. have you ever parked in a certain space specificaly to get a cart, then had a cart monkey {I was one, I can say that} come from outta nowhere and nab all those carts and ignore you when you ask them to leave you one? I quit shopping at the wal-mart by dh's work because of that... Carly 12-28-2002, 12:54 PM I hate driving around looking and waiting for a parking space, so I take the first space I see available. That's usually a distance from the entrance but I don't mind the walk. I get enough time in the car that a walk is refreshing even if it's just to the door of the store! cody15650 12-28-2002, 01:02 PM I usually park way out there, i don't want carts hiting the car, & i don't mind the walk.:paw: heaven 12-28-2002, 01:06 PM if it is warm i will park way down, if it is cold with 6 feet of snow and the windchill is -67 i park close. the only exception is here in town when i park right in front of the store because there is no other parking. SewCrafty 12-28-2002, 04:38 PM I usually park far away too. So I guess I do get SOME exercise after all! LOL QuilterMom 12-28-2002, 07:06 PM I park wherever - dh will drive around and around and around (ugh!) to find the closest spot. |
