What temperature do you set your heat at?
We are pretty much at 68 degrees most of the time.

Yes its getting chilly here too.We have had wall heaters for the past few yrs so we never had a choice of temp.But we just moved so....the the thermostat will be at about 68 here too:)

I absolutely love this time of year. We do not have the air or the heat on right now. I just love to see that little electric bill. :D
When we do have them set it is 80 for the AC and 70 for the heat.
Even at 70 I still walk around the house in sweats and flannel while DH and DS are usually running around in shorts. :rolleyes:

Well here in Florida our home doesnt come with heat since we could probably only use it 2 weeks out of the year. Im insterested in finding some safe heaters. Anyone can recommend any?:angel2:

We bought a heater last year at Sears.Its a grey upright one on wheels.It worked great no problems.I'm sorry I don't know the brand:( I will look for the pamphlet on it and let ya know.

In Walgreens flyer today is the Delonghi heater. It is upright & on wheels. I've had one for years and love it. I'm here in Florida but find there are times I use it.

Well, I try to keep it set around 62 during the day, a little colder at night. We have electric heat and it gets pretty costly so this is a financially based decision--not a preference based one, lol. I must admit it gets bumped up a couple degrees on occasion, and we warm the bathroom with a portable heater before baths...we do not have carpeting so it helps to wear socks! or slippers!

That is how my mom kept the temp while I was growing up. I heard a lot of "put a sweater on". *LOL*

At my grandma's we had wood burning stoves so it was always quite toasty. (sometimes too toasty)

Here, I keep the heat between 68-70.

:angel: I know this tip isn't for everyone, but it works well for us. We have a round kerosene heater in our basement, with kerosene at .99 a gallon and no waste, it saves on the heat bill big time. Today we had a high temprature of 22 degrees and it has been around 72 in here all day. I have another one I light on days that stay below 20. You must be very careful with them, but we have had no trouble. If it gets super cold my furnace might kick on, but that is pretty rare. Check with local laws first to see if you can use these in your area.

We heat with a wood stove so it is always toasty warm in here(72-75). At night I bump the thermostat up to 62 in case the stove burns low or goes out.

When I am home during the day, I set it to 61 degrees. DH turns it up to 65 when he comes home and it goes OFF when we go to bed. We are very healthy and rarely have colds! The only drawback is, the temp at my work is 74 degrees and I have to wear sandals even in the winter because it's too darned HOT there for me!
