View Full Version : Sansone- walk away the pounds?
Sara Noel 01-12-2003, 01:06 AM I think I could actually handle this workout.
Any reviews? I'm saving for this and austins step aerobic one. :D
I'm going to see if the library or video store has it before I buy it though.
QuilterMom 01-12-2003, 10:38 AM I really like it. My intention was to start using it again on Jan. 1st, but our City hit us with a lovely rezoning notice on Dec. 28th that heavily affects my subdivision so all my free time and energy has been going into research, petitions, designing flyers, talking to people, etc. I am exhausted! Hopefully after all this is over (still have a couple of weeks to go on it), I will get started back on Walk Away The Pounds.
I have the set that has 4 videos - 1 mile, 2 mile, 3 mile, and the 10-minute toning video. I think the set is great - I can tolerate Leslie (some of the ladies in the exercise industry are just too perky and bubbly for me and it gets on my last nerve!).
babynurse 01-12-2003, 11:17 AM I also have the set, it is a quick easy (read: for uncoordinated people like me!) workout. It does give you a workout though, don't be fooled! WATP is raved about among the Weight Watcher member boards and I know many have been successful with the program. I do them because I have little space and I hate walking outside in the winter. Check out www.collagevideo.com and you can preview some parts of it, I'm sure.
CountryMom 01-12-2003, 04:12 PM I have a set as well and really like it. I need to start doing them again. My set has the one, two and three mile walks. I think Leslie can be a bit annoying at times, but she is tolerable. My set came with some weight balls that you fill with water. I opted to use the weights that came with my treadmill instead. I got my set of tapes at Sams, I think they were around $25.
tnschaffer 01-13-2003, 10:53 PM I just rented the 1 mile walk from the library. i can only keep it for a week, but thought it would be a good way to check it out! I just sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago...Is this something I can do with a slightly messed up ankle?
QuilterMom 01-15-2003, 08:30 AM Tara~ My opinion is no, this isn't something you can do with a messed up ankle. Even though it's low impact, you will be on your feet constantly moving for 20 minutes or so. You will be walking/marching in place, stepping from side to side, do leg kicks and knee lifts as well as using your arms. I think it might be a little much until your ankle heals (jmo).
PennyPinchinPam 01-15-2003, 02:52 PM I love WATP's. I bought the 1 and 2 mile DVD for $10 at Best Buy. I had the VHS set of the 1,2, and 3 mile but I sent it to my mom. I try to do at least 6 miles a week. :)
Sara Noel 01-17-2003, 10:28 PM Guess what Gabe got me? wahoo. I got watp 1-4.
1-3 were bundled and 4 came separately. (but no ten minute toning video :( ) I'm really happy and excited.
It was on sale at Media Play. If I love it, I'll invest in the dvds. I'll let you know what I think once I try the workout.
Maybe she should have made one called Walk Away The Pounds "down your driveway and back" LMAO
babynurse 01-17-2003, 11:26 PM What a great motivating gift! Have fun!! I do think you'll like them...at least for easing into the exercise!;)
Labontet 01-17-2003, 11:58 PM Have fun with your tapes.
I love mine. Makes you feel so good after you are through.
sixfreds 04-01-2003, 10:30 AM I just got the 1 mile one and LOVE it... at the end of the week I think I am going to go get the 2 mile one, it does make you feel so much better and I can keep so so I don't feel discouraged....

Laralou 04-01-2003, 12:16 PM Target carries the dvd's for $19.95 the 1-3 mile come together. I plug in the WATP if I miss Denise Austin in the mornings!

Eileen, if you're doing the 2 without a problem, doing the 3 mile shouldn't be that bad--just a little more challenging. :)
sixfreds 04-10-2003, 07:01 AM and now I see walk away the pounds for abs how much different is that than the regular walk away the pounds?
Okay maybe I will get the 3 mile, the kids will sit and watch a movie while I do the 1/2 2 mile but I don't know if I can get them to behave for 45 minutes :~) I will try though, or maybe just do the 3 mile while they are in school...

Sara told me that the WATP for abs is not much different than the ones you already have. Leslie does have a lot of other new ones, though, that I may try.
I'm gearing up for the 2 mile later this morning :)
sixfreds 04-10-2003, 09:12 AM I just did the 2 mile again this morning and think no way can I do 3 miles, the 2 is long enough :~) but tomorrow when the kids are in school I am going to go out and look I think I saw one of her tone-up video's the last time I was at the store looking at exercise tapes.. Not that I need anymore exercise video's I already have a huge collection but this walk away the pounds I seem to be able to stick to..

Mom23boys 04-20-2003, 05:51 PM I have been thinking of getting these and I appreciate everyone's feedback. I am glad Sara posted about these.
keilley 04-20-2003, 10:12 PM I just got mine. A sporting good store was closing and I got my set of 1,2 and 3 with the weight for $12.00. Woo-hoo! I am so excited. I needed an aerobic type video to complement my other tapes.

Sara Noel 04-20-2003, 11:38 PM I really enjoy mine and have gone a little "Sansone" crazy. LOL
They are great for beginners like me.
