I went to my first estate sale today. I followed the TWG advice and headed for the cleaners and stuff like that.
Here is what I came home with:
3 ziploc bag boxes (almost full)
1 pk. of lunch bags
thermos with cup top
pitcher
cast iron skillet
cast iron pot
oil lamp
yarn with crochet hook (I feel sort of bad that I will undo the few rows the nice lady had started)
sake cups and jar
mardi gras dolls
tons of copies of Taste of Home
a cookbook from 1935
Total cost : $20 for the lot of it.

My favorite thing to buy at estate sales are the unused wrapping paper and cards. Depending on how old the person was who lived there, you can find some real treasures.
