A few of the Ladies at the village suggested to me that I read this book. One of you actually gave me a link (Thank you)

I actually searched it out on Amazon UK (as I live in the UK - duh! LOL) Anyway THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Why? Because when I got there an English woman had posted this review:

I read the comments on this book and thought it might be a very good way to save money. However, on recieving it I found it to be a complete waste of time and said money. Within a few chapters I realised that it is basically far too American and the majority of the suggestions are therefore irrelevant and impossible to execute, at worst it is just plainly nutty. This book is sad, inane and bizarre, and at best the suggestions are completely ridiculous - and you would have to be to carry out its recommendations. Save your money because this surely is a waste of it!

 This comment ALMOST put me off spending the money to obtain it BUT as YOU had recommended it I thought oh what the hell and got it anyway LOL.

It came yesterday so obviously I haven't had the time to look through 900 odd pages as yet and what I have seen, I was pleasantly surprised to see I already am doing alot of things! Some OK I wouldn't want to (but neither would amy LOL) But there is sooooooo much info here - I fail to see how anybody could call it a waste of money!

Thank you ladies - You came up trumps again :)

It is a wonderful book. I just got my copy not long ago and also haven't read it all... seems that you learn something on every page. :)

Oh I love that book. I wouldn't do everything in it but it inspires me to be a lot more careful with my money. :dollar:

I just finished reading it cover to cover from the library. I don't see me doing all the stuff she suggests but I got some great ideas from it. It keeps me inspired to keep going to save money and get out of debt. It's hard to stay motivated sometimes. Every few months I will go to the library and check it out and read alot of it. Amy

Amy D is an inspiration, but even she will admit that some of her ideas in the books will not appeal to the majority of readers. I have the Complete Tightwad Gazette, and would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn tightwad basics. I am proud to call myself a tightwad, and I have never recycled any dryer lint, and probably never will.

I just ordered The Complete Tightwad Gazette yesterday on half.com and I can't wait for it to get here. I've heard so many positive comments about it on here that I know I will enjoy it.
