Unless the furniture is suppose to be painted, I always strip the furniture if it is painted. I love wood and love re-doing the pieces.

I have seen some nice pieces of late though that have been painted and then stencilled and it looks wonderful.

I love both. I usually will try to salvage the wood with re-doing if it's not in too bad shape, but if the wood isn't really nice to begin with I have no problems slapping paint on it!

I love really primative stuff so, it would have to be pretty bad for me to paint it!:D There is some painted furniture I really like.
