I'm wanting to do both this year and would like to use old windows for the greenhouse and probably the cold frame has well. I'd like to have lettuce in the cold frame and have it for a longer growing period.

Dh is faunching at the bits to have a greenhouse. I'm holding out till I can get him to agree to doing it with reclaimed windows and lumber! It's funny that you mentioned this today b/c we just got yet ANOTHER greenhouse catalog in today's mail. He's not home so I'm gonna hide it;) .

I want a greenhouse so bad. I bought about 15 windows at an auction for $1. I have them is storage waiting for me to get a house.

Jack built a small 3x4 coldframe last year. It's a great place to start & harden off seeds. Just need to make sure you keep your plants watered and vented. You wouldn't want to fry the little things.:)
