When I was growing up, Santa always left wrapped gifts for us-including those in the stocking. Now he still wraps all but the big gifts that can't be easily wrapped or that need to be put together.

When DS was little, we did wrap gifts from Santa. We only did one Santa gift a year. (usually that one "must have" item) I used the same gift wrap every year for the Santa gifts and no other presents could be wrapped in that particular paper.
Christmas was more fun when DS would still let Santa visit. hopefully when he gets a little older, and not everything is "uncool," we can start having Santa again. ;)

Our kids are still pretty small, but so far Santa has wrapped some and not wrapped some gifts. He doesn't wrap the BIG stuff, because it is unfrugal to waste so much wrapping paper. :) Santa also doesn't wrap weird stuff like stuffed animals. I make sure all of the kids have at least 1 unwrapped gift from Santa. Stocking stuff usually gets wrapped, but this year I don't think I will be wrapping it.

In your house do all of your kids gifts come from Santa, or do some come from mom and dad? We are still up in arms about this one. It really hasn't been a big deal yet as none of the kids can read, but I am sure we will have to decide one of these years what we are going to do.

Santa doesn't leave presents here, mom and dad do. We never started the whole Santa, Easter Bunny, or Tooth Fairy routine here...

Everything that can be wrapped generally is wrapped. I'll scavenge a box for odd stuff, or wrap it in a couple of leftover brown paper bags from the grocery to even out the shape first if needed...I have one thing I'm thinking of not wrapping this year...it's a stuffed animal that makes crazy noises if you squeeze it...I think I'm going to hide it amidst the packages....or stuff it in a stocking if it'll fit...

We wrap all the gifts unless it's something too large to really be wrapped. It never dawned on me until recently that some people don't wrap gifts from Santa.

We even use special Santa paper...i.e., paper for Santa gifts isn't used for gifts from us.

No - Santa always left my gifts unwrapped when I was a kid so he leaves them unwrapped here too.

No, we've never done the Santa thing with ds.

only about 3 gifts from santa....i never understood why all from santa..why would aunts uncles etc...and santa buy presents for the kids..but not mom and dad>??so we all give something

Santa wraps the bigger present and the stocking fillers are unwrapped in the stocking. Sants always uses a different wrapping paper too:)

Some are wrapped in special santa paper and tags, not used for any other wrapping. And a few unwrapped so they knew Santa had really came.

Santa gifts are unwrapped and positioned as if Santa were really playing with them (dh's tradition). Plus, Santa gifts are always the big ones----mom and dad give socks and underwear, the practical stuff (my tradition).

And stocking stuffers are unwrapped but I think in our family we'll make them from Mrs. Claus---equal opportunity giving.

some wrapped, some unwrapped. odd shapes don't get wrapped, big sized presents don't get wrapped if from santa, but usually santa brings smaller gifts.one year santa didn't wrap anything as santa gifts weren't wrapped when he was a kid ( but were for his sisters and brother don't know why) but that was just odd to me, so the next year they got wrapped.

i do use one kind of paper for santa gifts and other papers for gifts from us. the santa paper always has a pattern with santa on it. and i just write the kids names on the wrapped present. since santa is on teh paper, they know who it is from.

I remember when I was a kid, if you got a really big gift it just might be in a black plastic bag. And if Santa ran out of paper at 2 am Christmas morning, you got the funny papers. LOL

We're another non-Santa family. We wrap everything we can, unless it's big, then we set it up and leave it out for them to find.

We read stories about Santa and things, we just don't make a deal about it. We feel strongly about the religious aspect of Christmas. We usually give the kids 3 presents (can be several different things wrapped together, i.e. 3-4 books only counts as 1 gift) like the wise men brought Jesus.

When we were younger our "Santa" gifts were alway's unwrapped and I'll probably do the same thing with Paige's "Santa" items.

Since we got older, we occassionally get a wrapped gift that say's from Santa.

Santa has his own wrapping paper here too, not all the santa gifts are wrapped. generally just enough santa gifts are wrapped to occupy the kids long enough for mom and dad to get a cup of coffee into us!! :toothy:

if the package is too large for the Christmas gift bags(made of Christmas fabric), then it is wrapped....but no Santa here...just mom & dad

I'm with Emerald Mommy, no Santa and three gifts to represent the wise men. Everything does get wrapped.

My kids no longer believe in Santa, but while they did the Santa gifts were unwrapped.

When I was growing up there was a combination of wrapped Santa gifts and non-wrapped ones. The wrapped ones were in paper that was completely different from anything else under the tree.
