I use Iams dry food for Xena, Jezabell and Boogie. I do give them scraps sometimes as well. Do you have particular brands you feed your pets? Do they get food scraps as well?

View Full Version : What Kinds Of Foods Do You Feed Your Pets? KathiS 01-31-2003, 04:48 AM I use Iams dry food for Xena, Jezabell and Boogie. I do give them scraps sometimes as well. Do you have particular brands you feed your pets? Do they get food scraps as well? QuilterMom 01-31-2003, 08:40 AM We feed our dogs Purina Beneful. Our vet isn't big on that choice (he prefers Science Diet), but Chloe is a very picky eater and it's the one food she's been happy with. We also supplement with bananas, apples, white and brown rice, carrots, and other fruits and veggies that are safe for them to have. SewCrafty 01-31-2003, 11:04 AM My cats get Purina Special Care and Nutra Choice Complete Care. No scraps, although I used to do this and treats all the time. Since having Toby, who gets sick on everything, no more table scraps or snacks. The 2 older ones, Bubbie and Squeaks we sneak little things to them sometimes because they didn't understand why they weren't getting them anymore. But this is very infrequently. CountryMom 01-31-2003, 11:16 AM Calli, the cat, gets a mixture of regular Iams and weight control Iams. I give her a scoop of each every day. Bonus points if you guess what kind of cat Calli is. :D CAGmomof2 01-31-2003, 01:33 PM Purina is what we feed our Pets in our home.. Midnite and Angel eat mostly any kind of Purina Cat food. Jewels eats mostly any kind of Purina Dog Food except for the Senior Adult Dog food. I'm not one to promote store brands but I do think speciall kitty is a pretty good store brand. They also hunt for their treats. My poodle eats Science Diet and that's all. We don't do treats other than reg. dog treats, no scraps. She is so smart that she gets demanding when we've given her things before and decided that it's best to stick with what we know is good for her....plus she's little so it doesn't take much to fill her up and then she won't eat her good food! Coffee16 01-31-2003, 05:06 PM Belle,Baby, and Bear(3 Black Labs) get Pedigree Mealtime Dry dog Food and snausages or milkbone dog treats Tia and Fluffy get Purina Cat Chow with Pounce or Whisker Lickin Cat Treats The dogs get food scraps every once in a great while or on holidays sometimes we add a can of Pedigree canned food mixed in with their dry food.:paw: Mommy2Tyler 01-31-2003, 05:09 PM Rocky gets Kibbles N' Bits... the vet isn't to happy about it, but we have had dogs live to be 14 plus years old and all they've had is this food... so it must not be too terrible. He's not SUPPOSED to get scraps... but they give them to him here. Once we get moved things will go back to normal. The scraps make dogs beg, and I hate a begging dog. :P CountryMom 01-31-2003, 05:48 PM Originally posted by QuilterMom A calico?!?! :D Yes! She loves those treats!! doodlebug 01-31-2003, 10:57 PM The siamese get Science Diet Hairball, and they never have hairballs thankfully, hairballs are just yuck. Our outside kitty gets Food Lion brand and sometimes leftovers like meat scraps and loves tomato products for some odd reason. The goats get Purina sweet feed and banana peels, apple peels, old bread, etc as well as hay in the winter months. Lori Biever-Launder 01-31-2003, 11:31 PM Both of mine get Nutranuggets. They also get a few scraps (Sophie loves tuna water!) and soem treats now and then. I buy Gyspy raw bones in bulk for extra treats. SewCrafty 02-01-2003, 12:26 AM I forgot to add, my dawg (dh called her this) Peachie loooooved people food!! I couldn't eat an orange or tomato without her help!! I would get 1/2 and she would get 1/2. She also loved raw green peppers and carrots! and for many years she wouldn't eat bananas until one of my cats tried them (I think it was Pepe) then she would eat them too! Can't have a cat eating something she wouldn't!!! |
