First I'm really sorry ladies, this is probably crushingly boring LOL, but small things please small minds so I had to post anyway :D

You've probably been pleased of a small ammount of peace and quite while I was away with my 'mania' LOL.

So anyway: I was feeling very depressed at the start of the weekend and I've been trying to de-clutter, after a hard day I sat in my front room and looked around at the mountain of scattered toys and mess and started 'thinking' - that is ALWAYS lethal LOL.

My front room WAS off-white (my 'husband' likes neutrals and that was his idea) before you jump down my throat there is nothing 'wrong' with neutrals! I just like COLOUR - it lifts my mood. And I had a HUGE computer desk that became very 'useful' for everybody to walk past and dump letters, keys, toys, cups, dinner! you name it - anything and everything.

So at midnight LOL I started to decorate my front room! (I finished at 5.15am!!! )

I have lots of 'bits' of paint in my workshop so I mixed a kiddies seriously bright orange with pastel yellow I had and there still wasn't enough so I topped it up with cream LOL and made a whole tin of the colour you see.

I put a shelf on the wall that was in my kitchen collecting dust and more clutter - I bought this at a car boot for £5 (about $7?) and arranged my mish mash of ornaments on it.

I sold my huge desk on ebay :D for £35 ($45?) and bought a dressing table at the local house clearance shop for £15 ($17?) It was a bit wrecked so I sanded it all down to remove cracked and stained varnish, replaced the broken handles and waxed it.

And HEY PRESTO my new computer area - cheap, decorated, clean, bright, happy and MINE! LOL.

Well I'm happy anyway LOL - The Whole front room has cost me:
£15 - New Desk
£1 - Desk handles

Total £16 ($18?) Sorry all the $ are approx - I'm not very good at money conversion.

So that's where I've been :D

That is so pretty Bev! You did a great job! I love the paint on the wall. You're right, it is very cheerfull. You also did really well on the desk! I have never attempted to redo a desk or table.

I believe you used your time wisely!:D

edited due to my lousy spelling.;)

Thank you - you are all too kind! :D

Here is the other side of the room, I had to post this too - I bought this shelf from another car boot (not that I'm addicted LOL) for £2!!! ($3?) Originally I was going to rub it down and paint it. But I decided against it and this is how I bought it (apart from the handles again - it didn't have any)

See the little clown silouettes on the side? I wondered if it came from a gift type shop that had a clown display on it?? Anyway I thought they made it rather unique and so I kept it this way.

Another bargain! :D

I also bought my computer stool from a jumble sale for £2 - I must have the cheapest front room in the whole of history! LOL

Oh so that's where you've been. It looks like your creative juices were flowing. I love the color on the walls! I love bold paint inside, I think it says a lot about a person who dares to do it. I went a little far out in my bath and kitchen. I hope to be able to post some pitures of it after I get my little cyberbaby fixed up, she's very sick, got a virus maybe! Remember paint is only paint...you can cover it up!

WTG!
I am one of those neutral color people.... talk about boring! LOL I always seem to pick off white, brown, some greens, those types of colors. Color scares me. LOL

But your room looks wonderful! I love it. You're so brave. :)
