Did you ever get that dog you thought about getting? If so would love to hear all about it.....If I've missed it, please update me;)

No we never did. Not that we don't want to get one, but with our limited income right now, I refuse to bring a dog into our home when we wouldn't be able to afford the shots or vet care.

I have decided though when we do get one it will either be a:

- shih tzu
- Gordon Setter

We are leaning towards a Gordon Setter.

I'm not familiar with gordon setters, but I once owned a shih tzu.
He was adorable, but they do need daily grooming. Gabe's family owned lhaso apso's and they are pretty similar breeds. Cutest puppies I have ever seen.

I had just been wondering, since I saw the post about dog suggestions.....I understand, and completely agree with you. I don't anything about gordon setters either.....are they different from irish setters, and how? I agree with Sara about shih tzu's being the cutest puppies in the world. Big ol eyes, gosh you gotta love em. '

CJ, have you ever owned a Gordon? They are very, very high energy dogs! Also, to keep a dog in show coat, you must spend a LOT of time grooming every day. Be prepared to have your Gordon have a trimmed coat or else clean burrs, mud, ticks, etc. out EVERY day. They are also wonderful family dogs and LOVE kids! If DH or you hunt, they are wonderful game dogs.
