We always take a family vacation in July. Every year we have taken this trip to the coast and enjoyed the beach atmosphere. This year we were wanting to do something different, but can't think of what we want to do. I was wondering if you have some ideas? What do you do and does your family enjoy it?

Traveling to the destination is ok as we have to travel where we usually go anyway.

Oh, the reason I am asking so early is because we like to plan everything out in advance and then make reservations early if need be.

When I was younger my parents to us camping in the mountians or we would stay in a motel in places like Gatlinburg, Ashvile, etc. Visiting DC is a fun trip too. Have fun planning!! :D

We thought about camping in the mountains Daphne. We just don't know where we would like to go.

Thanks for the ideas.

The Shanedoah (sp?) is beautiful!! You can travel along the Skyline drive or Blue Ridge Parkway - it's so nice and so affordable. You would have a great time. I'm not sure how far that is from your house though...it may take awhile to get there.

Have you ever been to Taos or Santa Fe? The mountains are beautiful there, but I don't know the name of the campgrounds in the areas......gorgeous scenery though;).

No we haven't been there either. We have never been to any mountains, so this would be a first. I will check into them too Lisa. Thanks!

I bet the mountians out in Santa Fe would be beautiful!! I've never been there - I've just flown over them going to San Diego.
