We have decided to start looking for a home to buy. This afternoon we are meeting with the loan officer to get pre approved for the loan. Malcom is going to get a VA loan so we don't have to pay a down payment. It should be interesting to see what happens. Who knows when we will finally do this - malcom leaves so much I may end up doing this all by myself. I'm going to call some agents this morning and try to set something up this Friday to look around. We are looking for town homes but I would love to get a house with a nice yard but we would never be able to find something less than $150,000. The houses that are in our budget aren't very nice and aren't in good areas. And with me being home a lot - it's just not safe. So wish us luck - it's going to be a journey!! :D Exciting and scary at the same time!!

Good luck on your journey, it is a scary process BUT really worth it in the end, just take your time finding the right place and you guys will be fine..

Someone once told me you just know when it's the "right" house to buy. It was so true. I knew it as soon as I stepped inside.

Well yesterday we went to the mortage company and got preapproved for the house. We are meeting with the agent on Friday to start looking at the houses!! :D I'm getting ready to call her now and let her know what we were approved for - actually lower than what we were approved for - don't want to tell them the maximum we can afford!! I feel much better that we got the loan approval - that was making me very nervous!! We had no problem at all :D I'll keep you updated on how the house hunting goes!!
