View Full Version : What is yours and DH/SO's song? (Wedding song)
babynurse 02-15-2003, 11:40 PM What is your special song? Or the song you danced to for your first dance at your wedding?
I had two: The first was "Stranger than Love" by Harem Scarem. This was our song when we first started dating.
The other was "Have you ever been in Love" by Peter Cetera...this was supposed to be our first wedding song.
I hear these songs and have so many bittersweet memories.
What is your song?
Mommyof2lildivas 02-15-2003, 11:44 PM Ours is "Still the One" by Sheyna Twain. Oh and "Groovy Kind of Love" by Phil Collins.
~Sherry~ 02-16-2003, 12:01 AM We don't really have one... but when I was still in PA and Dave was here in MN I used to listen to from the Hope Floats soundtrack while I was waiting for him to drive out to me. There was a song on there that I kind of made "ours"... To Get Me To You :) Good song!
lucy979 02-16-2003, 05:33 AM Ours is "The Dance" by Garth Brooks. We used to hear it at the skating rink where we met.

dz_blonde_girl 02-16-2003, 10:06 AM "Amazed" by Lone Star. "It's Your Love" was a close second, in case we couln't find the Lone Star CD.
kimbee 02-16-2003, 10:50 AM My husbands sister sang Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse at our wedding. Can you tell we were 80's headbangers?:chug:
AmyBoz 02-16-2003, 11:17 AM Crazy Love by Brian Kennedy. It's originally by Van Morrison. We heard it in a movie once and just fell in love with it because it described us perfectly. Dancing to it at our wedding was wonderful!
seadream 02-16-2003, 11:19 AM Faithfully by Journey
Belinda 02-16-2003, 01:27 PM Our dating song was Together by a little known group called Tierra, if you get the chance, look this song up online. It's wonderful. Our wedding song was Evergreen by Barbra Streisand, I just printed the lyrics out in a pretty font for Valentine's Day.
sunshine 02-16-2003, 02:53 PM We're old folks. Our song was the theme from the movie "Ice Castles" It was called "Through the Eyes of Love" we also used the song from the same movie calles "Deborah's Rock" for the recessional.
No dancing at our reception as we had it at the church.
baronmom 02-16-2003, 03:28 PM Ours was Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse, although when we were introduced at the reception we walked in to The Best of Times by Styx.
Traci C.
We were married outside at a place on the bay here. DH had been in an accident the week before so our original wedding plans were trashed (he was in the accident the day before the wedding and we married when he got out of the hospital). Right now, our song is "When I'm Gone" by 3 Doors Down. DH is deployed and we are here so the song always chokes us up.
mustang80 02-17-2003, 07:31 PM "Always" by Atlantic Starr. The lyrics fit us perfectly.
My SIL used "Love of a Lifetime"-MIL was furious because she didn't feel it was appropriate, but the words really fit them. They used it anyway.
guest2 02-17-2003, 08:01 PM The song we had sung at our wedding by a good friend is "You're the Inspiration" by Chicago. My MIL did change a word or 2 in it so it was more "appropriate":D . We also had "The Hawaiian Wedding Song" played. We originally were going to get married on the beach at sunset in Hawaii at the resort that my father manages and I grew up at, but my I found out that my inlaws were going to take out a second mortgage on their house to finance the trip and I quickly changed plans. So...we had a Hawaiian style wedding with the flowers and food flown in in Moscow, Idaho! LOL!
bamamomto4 02-17-2003, 08:05 PM While we were dating it was Love Bites by Def Leppard.
the song at our wedding was We've only just begun by The Carpenters :)
Heather 02-17-2003, 08:09 PM There's No Way (I could make it without you) by Alabama and You and I by Eddy Rabbit and Crystal Gale.
