Contribute Regularly to Your Savings
Make it a habit to save something each month, even if it's only $10. Increase that amount as you pay off debts or get pay raises. Create a lifestyle around what you earn now, not what you hope to earn someday. When you do get a raise, continue to live on your current income and invest the extra income every month.
Organizing Plain and Simple - Donna Smallin
I think these are all great ideas, especially the one about putting even just a little something in savings. I know that when we can't put dh's entire paycheck into savings because we need it for checking, I never even think about putting a small part of it in savings, but I guess common sense should tell me that every little bit helps!
