Installing a 220 Volt Receptacle

One of the biggest roadblocks to a major remodeling project is working around large appliances. Well, not exactly the appliances themselves, but the receptacles that power them. You can add or move 220 volt receptacles yourself. With a little help from this article, you'll be pulling wire like a pro in no time. Lowe's is happy to provide this information as a service to you.

When we moved to our present home and dh redid the old dilapitated garage, he did all his own wiring. He just went to the library and got a book, read up on it and did it.

It was approved by the electrician here.

Thanks for the link. It is so true, with a little bit of reading, anyone can do their work themselves.

btw - here though, everything needs to have a final approval by our electrical company!!

Here too CJ, as I think it is in most places. If your dh or whoever you have do your electrical work isn't a certified electrician, I think it is a good idea to have someone check it out anyway just for safetys sake.
