Things aren't looking good!!! The appraisial came in today way lower than we put the bid in for. We kind of had an idea of this. Now the seller is being a jerk (I know that sounds mean but I'm being nice about that comment). He was going to accept whatever VA appraised it at and now he isn't sure if he wants to do that or not. I've just been a major stress ball all day and now I have to wait until Monday when they are going to send another appraiser out there to justify some comps. It's all confussing to me...it just makes my head spin!!! I talked to Malcom a couple of times today and he helped me to calm down about it and made me realize that it's out of our hands and if it's meant to be..then it's meant to be.

Sorry I'm such a complainer today...I'm just having a blah afternoon/evening!!! I know it will get better...I'm just so anxious to get this house...we really want it!! Thanks for letting me vent so much today. I promise this is the last yucky post!!! :D

Daphne, Ho if the guy really wants to sell it then he'll go ahead and take the VA"s appraisal. It's really tough for them to make it with a VA A. It'll get better, This guy sounds like all he's out for is the money and if the house isn't up to VA standards then he can't get what he is asking for it.

Praying that things turn out the way you wnat them to. Love & Hugs

I hope things work out for you, maybe this house isn't up to par and if you don't get it....a better house will come your way! I know you are really excited about this house and I hope that guy will see past the money and help you and Malcom realize your dream!

Here's sending you good luck hugs and wishes!!

If the seller really wants to sell it to you he will either make the changes so VA will offer more or he is just a jerk as you say.

If this one doesn't go forward, there is always another one that will be the right one for you. I think there is a reason for everything....though I don't know what the reason is have the time....lol

Hang in there! Keep your chin up and smile!:D

Daphne,

I am so sorry that you having trouble. I agree with everyone, if this doesn't work out, it was not meant to be and you will find something better. I know it is hard to feel like that when you are feeling disappointed but I truly believe that it will all work out for the best for you and Malcolm. Just hang in the there, we are all thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way.

Daphne, this process is to protect you and the lender from spending more on a house than it's worth, if it's not this house there are so many more.......... Be patient, it will all work out !

Hey, I would suggest you take a "take it or leave it" attitude with the seller. If he thinks you're not so hot to buy it, he may work a little harder to be nice. ;)

Thank you for all of your sweet thoughts!! I know that if it's not meant to be then we won't get it and something else will come along. I've always felt that way with everything in life. But I'm sure you all understand how frustrating it can be. I didn't sleep well last night thinking about this. I woke up this morning and realized I don't need to be like this (even though it's hard). I'm just going to sit back and let what happens happen. Thanks again ladies for all of your great support!!

Hang in there Daphne! Like your sweetie said, there isn't anything you can do now except let the others do their thing. Very frustrating I know. It's like a big choreographed dance routine where all the dancers have to come together and somehow they do just in time for the big show, lol.

:hugz: Daphne, I know how stressful buying a home can be. I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason--if this one doesn't work out, something even better will come along :)

As my Mama use to say "You can't fit a round peg into a square hole". If this house is meant to fit you it will all work out. I'm not sure I'd trust the seller. He sounds like a weenie. Did ya smile? :D

Hi Daphne,
DH and I went through something similar. We didn't get the house we originally wanted but.....God had something much better in store for us! We went to an open house a couple of weekends after the first house fell through and met a really nice realtor. That house didn't meet our needs, but she called us about 3 days later with a house in the same neighborhood that the owner just came in to list. It was a home he had gotten for back taxes, totally stripped it and redid it (all except for the orange kitchen counter tops, LOL!). We got it for roughly 1/2 of the price we would have paid for the previous major fixer upper we wanted and turned around and sold it 3 years later for a $24000 profit when we moved! We then were able to buy a place up in this area for 1/2 the going price of everything else we looked at and was comparable up here. God is good!!!
