my dsis and her dh just got a gold retriever puppy. he is going to be their only baby as my sister doesn't want kids and thus the closest thing to a nephew i will have. dsis did a lot for my kids when they were born so i want to return the favor with the arrival of their furbaby. but i'm not sure what exactly to send. the only thing i can think of at the moment is a nylon bone as that is what my dog carries around with him all the time. anyone have any suggestions?

Toys, toys, toys!!! :D Maybe you could take your nephew to a store like Petsmart and let him pick out his toy!! lol I can get carried away buying things for Daisy. How about a doggie bed or pillow? Or a nice collar and leash. Pet stores have cute ones!! Let us know what you get!!

i forgot to say that it has to be mailed. i'm in CT and they are in VA. i'm thinking about getting a container to keep dog biscuits in and a box of puppy milkbones. then put a couple of toys in the container and leave the milkbones in the box for my sister to open. that's all i can come up with so far.

Treats are always a hit with the furbabies! LOL Thier own special blanket (that is easy for Mom to wash) is nice too. That way if they have to go to the "Doggie Motel" they can take it with them. The fuzzy toys with a squeeker in them and seeings as this is for a retriever how about a ball or frisbee (sp)?
What ever you send will be very happily received by the furbaby and I'm sure your sis and her dh too.

When my black lab was small he loved the Hooves you can buy at the pet stores. It was the only thing that kept him from chewing on my toes. LOL
He still loves those to this day.
