Breastfed milk is great for the baby. I am glad to hear you ladies are breastfeeding. I am a supporter of breastfeeding as I breastfed all 3 of mine.

I am. The first 8 weeks were an adjustment period, but no problems or issues. I have a pump, but don't use it at this point.
Alexandra is dairy intolerant. That took a few weeks to pinpoint. She was not too happy the first few weeks.
I'm definitely happy with my decision to bf.

I'll share a little anecdote with you ladies...as you can see by my name I was a "baby nurse" at one time....a short time, lol. I haven't had children, keep this in mind....and a "senior" nurse pushes me into a room where a new mother is trying to get her newborn latched on....go ahead she says..."help her"....YEAH RIGHT....like I have any advice for this woman....it was her 5th child! LOL! She took one look at me and laughed....so did I! I actually learned a lot from her. But I can appreciate the challenge it is to breastfeed successfully (esp with the push to feed formula for its convenience esp in the workplace, etc) and I respect and support any woman who chooses this option...KUDOS to you all and continued success for you and baby!

I nursed all three of mine and only had trouble with the first one.
I wasn't producing enough milk. I think that when you nurse you have a stronger bond with baby, not to mention a healthier baby (in most cases).
Good Luck to all you new mommies and just love those babies. Give 'em all a big hug from Auntie Ellise will ya.

It makes me want another baby, nah, I'm too old and tired, I'll just spoil all of yours! LOL

We'll all come and visit you Ellise so you can get your baby fix... LOL

Breastfeeding here too and all is going great this 2nd time around. Didn't have success with #1 (he was very colicky and hungry and I couldn't keep up with his hourly feedings). But I guess the second time's a charm.

They had given me Lansinoh cream in the hospital and really only had to use it the first couple weeks.

Sometimes I just want to give it up all together because it can be quite an inconvieniece while in a restaurant, and it would be nice to stay in bed sometimes while dh gets up to feed the baby. But then the price of formula always reminds me of why I really wanted to BF to begin with.

I b/f ds for 5 months, then my supply dwindled off, mil was not supportive of b/f and would sneak ds bottles of formula when i was diong dishes ot folding laundry etc. then i would go to b/f and not know why he wasn't hungry. she finnally told me after he was totally given up on the breast what she had been doing. talk about ticked me off! then with dd, I was able to keep it up for 5 weeks till i got a bad cold and was afraid of the medicines i was having to take affecting her, and my supply was low to begin with. I wish i had kept up with it. Id have rathered b/f than formula anyday.
