View Full Version : My cats need a psychiatrist!!!
doodlebug 04-03-2003, 12:35 AM My siamese are driving me crazy! Izzy has a plastic bag fetish, if there is a plastic bag on the kitchen table or a trash bag anywhere she chews on it! I'm so afraid she is going to eat the plastic and will die from an obstruction. We have to be so careful with plastic now and sometimes we forget and I hear plastic rustling and there she is, chewing away. She also sleeps on the furnace floor vents:rolleyes:
Bubbie won't drink water from her bowl, she dips her right paw in the bowl and then licks the water off her paw:loop: I wonder sometimes if she gets enough water. She also has started running through the house at top speed while growling, which is pretty entertaining :D but weird.
Any one else have psychotic pets????? LOL!
Any one know how to break the plastic bag fetish?????
Missy 04-03-2003, 12:48 AM my male tries to bite the vinyl floor.....which wouldnt be quite so sad if he HAD all his teeth...otherwise he hids all day long under the computer desk or an ottoman. for almost a year he wouldnt come out from the bathroom. (he had been hit by a car and that's how he lost teeth....he hung out under the sink and would take a swipe at you if you went to use the sink...his nickname is troll now) I finally gave up on him comming out on his own, and physically removed him from the bathroom, so he hides under everything else in the house. the female is pretty boring, lol, she just hangs out under the tree in the yard, and gets beat up by the neighbor cat, (she wont go near the street though).
mrscornbread 04-03-2003, 12:54 AM We have squirrels in our neighborhood. My dog Koko killed one and faithfully brought me the prize once. Well I guess she has had the taste of squirrel blood and now if there is a squirrel in a tree, she will wait and wait and wait until the squirrel finds an alternate route away from her. She is a very diligent squirrel hunter thats for sure.
scrappycat 04-03-2003, 07:49 AM My mom has a cat that chews plastic bags too! She has to put all her grocery bags away as soon as she gets home from the store.
My big male tabby likes to walk around eating anything he finds on the floor. Now, with three kids there is usually lots of good stuff on the floor, but he eats anything.
My other cat, Scraps, tears through the house all the time. She'll just be sitting there and then just shoot off ninety miles an hour. It's funny watching her make turns, she looks like a cartoon character with her feet spinnning. Sometimes she makes the turn and sometimes she doesn't.
My other cat, Smudge, is kind of funny too. He is a big fluffy ragdoll, very heavy and slow moving. He likes to get in fights. Whenever he gets in fights, there is one chair in the family room that he goes too. He doesn't get on the chair unless he's been in a fight. He comes in, kind of depressed looking, and lumbers over to the chair, and you know he's had his butt kicked!
MJsLady 04-03-2003, 10:00 AM I have 6 of these pets! Ones loves the milk jug rings, bats them all under the fridge or shelf units
One loves to wrestle plastic bags, and regularyly chases ghosts around the house.
the others pretty much stick to themselves and act up occasionally
Mommy2Tyler 04-03-2003, 10:05 AM I have a black lab thats obsessed with socks. LOL
He takes them off our feet... even when we don't want them off. :) He takes them so gently though, with just the tips of his teeth. He'll take all of our socks off, even Tyler's... then he takes them all and puts them in a pile and lays down with them. LOL Whatta nut!
Ellise 04-03-2003, 10:16 AM My cat Marie likes to stick her head in plastic cups! Then I have to take them off of her. Steph doesn't do anything, she doesn't like to be touched she acts like your hand "burns" her so she stays away from everyone unless she's in heat! Steph will jump into the bathtub and wait for you to turn the water on a slow drip so she can use her paw to drink water.
My dog Rayna, thinks every stuffed animal in the house is her baby!! ANd if the cats go near one she will kinda snap at them, other wise she just loves the cats, grooms them constantly, poo kitties have dog slobber on them! yuk!!
PennyPinchinPam 04-03-2003, 01:06 PM My friend had a cat she findly refered to as her Prozac kitty. LOL!!
doodlebug 04-03-2003, 02:41 PM Prozac kitty, lol, I'm thinking that might be Izzy sometime soon! She also has an eating disorder, lol, she will get a mouth full of dry food from her bowl and carry it across the room then put it down and eat it one piece at a time, beats me why she can't just eat out of the bowl :toothy:
LynnieB 04-09-2003, 03:01 AM My cat chews plastic bags also. We need the pet psychic too see why they do that.
