I'm trying to be more organized-this new desk really inspires me :toothy: . I opened a freedom account today. Everytime the car insurance is due, I have to scramble for the money because it's already been spent, even though we budget for it. Now I am budgeting for my freedom account to pay for:

Car insurance
Sewer rental
Internet service

These expenses only pop up every few months or so. This way I am prepared for these expenditures. Does anyone else have a freedom account? How is it working for you?

Wish me luck!

Danielle, good for you. There is nothing like having a freedom account so that should something come up, you have it there for that specific purpose.

I have mine for property taxes, insurance and I use it for my house pmt. cuz I save half each pay check so it is not feast and famine.

I like to have control over my money and not hve an escrow for my property taxes. Then I get the interest and not someone else.

And it got me off the mo. insurance payments and saved 40.00 a year, not a lot but over the past 12 years I had been paying monthly that could have been 480. for me. And over the next many years it will be mine!!

I don't have one, but wish I did. This is one of the first things I plan on doing when dh gets a job.

Good for you!
