I am so excited about how this is going, the cuff is now 2 inches (maybe a little more...ds is playing wtih my measuring tape, so i have to wait till he's tired of it)

But back to my point...what was it?? Oh yeah. I have gotten a cuff made for the socks i am trying to learn to knit, Yay me! Here's a few pics. I am sorry that they aren't quite clear and might not show the ribbing well, but i hope you can see what I have done. :D

WTG Melissa, they are going to be precious. I am so glad you are hanging in there and not throwing in the needles, LOL. You will be a champion knitter before you know it. You can do anything you set your mind too--You are a mighty super Frugal Villager :D.

I thought I would post an update to how it is going so far I am about halfway throught he first sock. I I scanned it (the sparklies were too much for the scanner so I had to play with the contrast some to get a good enough scan. But the sparklies are there, lol.

I forgot to say that the pattern for the sock part is a spiral pattern according to the directions so it looks like it is shifting to the left because it is supposed to, lol. DH brought it to my attention that it looked crooked.

And I am using a scrap of yarn to help me count rows so that is what the white is there in the left.

Woo Hoo Melissa! WTG! I LOVE it! My mother used to use little safety pins for row markers. I know I'm not patient enough to do this, but you've got me thinking about trying!

Whew, so far I am still on my first sock. But it is 11 inches long now. the pattern calls for it to be 18 inches. Almost done! I hope i have enough yarn for the second sock! It is going much faster now that I am a bit more confident with my stitching. I can't wait to get going on other projects. But i might do one for dh, and some for each of the kids for christmas. If i gain some speediness, i might even be DONE by christmas!LOL.

Melissa, your doing a wonderful job.

Can I give you a little tip:     Just as in quilting, always purchase a couple extra balls of wool.    Because, when you go back, you might not find the same dye lot or heaven forbid, the same wool.          If your short, that way you'll always have extra wool.

I know i have more of the yarn here in the house...but I don't know where. I fear it is in the kids closets. I hope I have enough so that I don't have to venture in there, LOL.;)
