Many of us seem to be motivated on money topics, so I thought this week's topic could be money. Resource type info, goalgetters, and challenges will be excluded from this week's topic.

Examples for topics: Triggers to spending, insurance, taxes, debt, setting priorities, kids and money, buying a car, etc.

I'll kick off the discussion.

How many bank accounts does your family have?

We have three. 1 joint checking, I have 1 checking acct for myself, and 1 joint savings. I'm ashamed to say that Zachary once had an account and when we had tough times, we borrowed the money and have yet to replace it. I'm determined to put it back and need to setup a new account for Alexandra, as well.

we have 4, one joint checking, one joint savings ( sad affair there) and we each have a single account.

As soon as dh has 90 days in at Home Depot, we will have his check direct deposited into our joint account, mine already does, that is so easy, does anyone else do this? (Plus it makes my checking account free and i get lots of perks too)

1 joint checking and 1 joint savings. We now have Jack's check automatically deposited too. It gives us free checking as opposed to $7.50 per month!

We have 3 joint accounts, one checking and 2 savings. My checks go into the checking account and dh goes into the savings. Both are direct deposit and I agree it is so much easier and alot less of a hassle to go to the bank every week. We also have $100.00 taken out of dh checks every week and deposited in our credit union savings account that doesn't get touched unless of an emergency.

Oh dear

We have SIX lol

One for standing orders - bills
His for Pocket money.
Mine for Pocket money, eBay etc.
e-account for savings for Christmas/Birthdays etc.
e-account for savings for Holidays
Separate account for Disney.

Sashka also has her own - her choice, the other's don't have one.

Except DS (18) who has his own job, savings, account etc. Which I have nothing to do with.

We have one joint. When dh got the loan he used it, but now I'm the only one who uses it. My checks are direct deposited and if he has to pay a bill he puts it in the bank and I write the check and mail it out.

We have one joint checking account, 2 joint savings accounts, I have one savings account at my credit union, and a Christmas club there as well.

Each kid has a savings account.

We keep 2 joint savings accounts- so that the rental income/outgo is separate from our normal household stuff. And I can't add dh to the credit union one- but it gets deducted automatically from work.

We have 1 joint checking and 2 joint savings (although one is strictly for child support $ right now). We each have individual savings accounts with hardly anything in them and Isaac has his own savings account. So that makes 6 right?!!
