Have any of you tried Dave Ramsey's financial program? I have read "Total Money Makeover" and took DH to see him live in October. He was very motivating, but we chose to wait to start fresh in the new year... Would anyone like to share?

I haven't heard of Dave Ramsey, but I'm going to check out his book when I'm at the library. I really enjoy David Bach--he wrote the Finish Rich books. I read Smart Couples Finish Rich and I learned quite a bit from it. He just came out with a new book--The Automatic Millionaire, so of course I bought it--I found it at BJ's, so it was cheaper there than at the bookstore. And, he's going to be on Oprah this Tues. the 13th, so I'll be taping that for sure. I love learning about finances!!

Dh and I have followed his "Financial Peace" plan for a couple years. We're making progress!

We've read Financial Peace and Total Money Makeover. They are very, very good. I was already a bit ahead of my dh when he started with Dave....I had secretly been paying down our debt for 2 1/2 years and made HUGE progress. We've been using the snowball method and doing many of the things that Dave talks about. I'm in love with Dave b/c he's got my dh so jazzed about our finances ;) We're thinking about going to see him as well.
