Thanks Heather!  These are great tips!  I've been doing a little "consering" of electric around our home as well.  We have flood lights on all corners of the house that are set off by movement.  Most of the time it's a deer walking by the house that sets them off.  They stay on for 1/2 an hour when this happens BIG BUCKS!  I've turned all of them off.  We have a pole light that does just as well as the flood lights and costs a whold lot less!

Since I know my way around the house at night, I now longer turn lights on as I enter and exit rooms.  When I do have a light on, I make sure that it's for the area I'm in and the others are turned off.

Great links Heather! :D Appreciate that.

Dh works for the electric utility here in BC, and we try to do our part.

Last year I worked on light bulbs, switching to the flourescent bulb replacements and we've seen a tremendous difference.

This year when we bought the new stove when the old one died, I was able to go back to a self cleaning one, which saves on power due to the extra insulation and shorter cooking times with the convection cycle which I just love anyway.

Gotta love it when you can save your $ AND the environment!:D
