View Full Version : Has anyone used Glad's Press and Seal? Sara Noel 05-20-2004, 04:28 PM I haven't tried it but am curious how it is. SewCrafty 05-20-2004, 05:08 PM I have! :wave2: When I was sick Jack saw it shopping and just HAD to have some! lol It works pretty good on plastic bowls that I don't have a lid for! :thumb: KKCondrey 05-20-2004, 05:32 PM Cool, I was going to get some (i seem to have bowls with no lids as well) but didn't know if it worked or not. Glad to here it is pretty good. Guest1 05-20-2004, 06:46 PM Originally posted by KKCondrey Glad to here it is pretty good. :toothy: No pun intended?!?! I've used it before for the same thing! Works for me!! baronmom 05-20-2004, 08:44 PM It works, but only one time. When you use it and peal it back, there is not as much stick to it. It does not always stick again. So, for a once and done thing it is fine. Time after time, no. You need to use a fresh piece. gkp1031 05-20-2004, 08:46 PM I've never used it, but my future SIL uses it all the time and says it works great. Robadob 05-20-2004, 10:20 PM It has great crafting and quilting uses. You can trace patterns on in, stick it to the fabric and then you have a pattern piece that won't move as you cut it out. You can also draw quilting lines on in, stick it to the quilt and then quilt through it. Pull it off when done quilting. I've tried this with machine quilting but not hand. It's too $$ to use in the kitchen in my opinion at least the way my DH uses it. Kindred-Spirit 05-27-2004, 04:54 PM The news did a consumer tests on the product. Thumbs up for plastic and styrofoam. Thumbs down for glass items. So I guess depending on what you would use it for, it may or may not be good. :) slowtypinwoman 05-27-2004, 04:59 PM I have used it and didn't like it at all. I thought it was difficult to tear off the roll and it would stick to everyrthing but what I wanted it to. jm2c duckduckgoose007 05-28-2004, 02:59 PM I just buy those "Saran Quick Covers"...plastic covers with elastic on edges. They are a little bit pricey, but one container of them has probably saved me buying 3 rolls of plastic wrap. Also saved me "Agrivation" with the plastic wrap sticking to itself!!!! I just wash them in Dawn & rinse well...let dry. I have even put them in the dishwasher. They last a long time. :D kaykwilts 06-01-2004, 11:43 AM I use it as a quilting notion. It will adhere wonderfully to your fabric. You peel a piece off and trace off your pattern. Then you can stick it to your fabric and machine quilt over it. It will peel away just fine. I learned about this tip on the about.com quilting site. Katybird 06-01-2004, 03:01 PM I use it all the time. I love it. I seem to always be missing the lid to whichever bowl I am using. I have given up using regular plastic wrap all together and only use press and seal now. |
