46%

With flushing the toilet with rain water, we used 100 gallons less of water from our last bill to this bill. I was pleased with that because we didn't do it the whole 90 days. Our bill comes every 90 days.

BUT the town raised our water rates a whopping 46% meaning our water bill was $42 more, even though we used 100 gallons less.

I was down at that town office this morning hopping.

Here is what our rates use to be.

On the first 1,000 gallons you paid 40.85
Then $9.95 per each 1000 gallons used

Now you pay:
On the first 1000 you pay $60.25
Then $14.80 per ea 1000 gallons used

Then they tell me they need to get a new water system and the increase for that will be going on our taxes.

I tell you will be using even less water. We have so many seniors here living on a fixed income. I'm not sure how they are going to be able to pay for an increase of 46%. That is absolutely ridiculous!!!!!

That is terrible, here our water bill is included in our power bill, but its still fairly cheap. The last place we lived the most we ever paid was $15 a month.

I'm so sorry CJ that they went up that much. That just doesn't seem fair.

CJ...so sry sweety! Remember the other ways to save on usage...They will add up.

Refresher...recycle rinse water from dishes for flushing. Recycle wash water (laundry) for flushing and recycle rinse water (laundry) for next wash cycle. I'd save the rain water for plants and animals.

oh CJ!!!! That's awful! Thank heavens you know how to save and can, but the seniors, that is really hard on them.
