Their excuse is this:
Milk prices have been increased as part of an ongoing effort to ensure fair prices for consumers, dairy producers and processors.
Ask me how this is fair, when it says this: In Winnipeg and Brandon one litre containers of milk will increase by 3¢ to a maximum of:
Homogenized - $1.47
2% - $1.40
1% - $1.34
Skim Milk - $1.30
Now tell me which store will only increase it 3¢ when it has a maximum it can go to.

Well, CJ, I would think the stores might try to offer the lowest milk price to get customers to come in and buy other things. Milk has gone up around $1/gallon here! The bigger stores change their milk prices almost daily in order to compete with one another.

When I was buying milk regularly it was $2.59 a gallon and most of the time I used my rewards points for the store and got it free.
Now I've noticed at some places here it is over $4.00 a gallon and over 2.50 or so for a half gallon. There was a gas station when we were living in NC that still sold it for $2.79 after all the stores went up to $3.29-$3.59 a gallon. Needless to say they could hardly keep it stocked. People would tell you at the store, "don't buy it here, go to the gas station, it's cheaper."
You would have people literally get out of line, or tell the cashier not to ring up the milk that they didn't want it from there anymore. It was crazy.
I've stopped buying it. When it is discounted with my rewards card I buy it sometimes. I guess I will have to wait on that until it is on special at the store next time, as I am too cheap to buy it while it is that expensive.

It's almost $4.00 a gallon here. I tell my boys to make sure to use it ALL--no dumping a little bit out.

Well, I bought a gallon last night and it was $3.79 on sale. I went thru them all and got the latest date I could find.

We try to buy our milk at Sam's club. But alot of gas stations are selling them cheaper then the stores, to bring in more business.
