It was in the paper today that our local Goodwills are lowering their prices. It's about time, I always thought thier prices were too high on clothing. I hadn't been there in awhile because of the prices, I will have to go check it out again. We have several Goodwill stores here, about 4 in my city so maybe I can now find some good deals.

That's great news! I avoid Goodwill because of their prices too!

I guess it depends on the GoodWill or maybe the area. When we lived in East Texas the GW was sooo clean and tidy... and you could get the best deals. The had a color tag/99¢ sale for everyday of the week.

When we moved back to Dallas, I went to the local GW. :yucky: The place smelled like a sewer; it was filthy and expensive. I could not believe the prices for their worn out clothes... $10 for a pair of worn boy's jeans. I've been to several others around the Metroplex and they are just about as nasty and expensive.... even if they were to have good prices I'm not so sure I could buy anything.

But, the one in East Texas is still just as it was... too bad it's too far to drive. :( Thankfully, though I have found several nice and reasonably priced thrift stores around my little town. :)

Thats wonderful news. Hopefully they will lower them enough Cornelia, that you can shop there.

I've found the same thing while living in Winnipeg. Prices were almost has high as new clothing.

Our Goodwill in this town is also very high (for a second hand store). However the Goodwill in Danville (about 30 minutes away) always has something on sale and has much better prices. I've never understood the difference between the 2 but I prefer the less expensive one. We also have a Salvation Army store but it is NASTY and even higher than Goodwill. I never go there and refuse to take donations to them as well.

The Goodwill stores in the 2 college towns near me usually have high prices but the one in Spokane has lower prices.

The GW near me is in a ritzy hoity toity shopping center  and is way overpriced. I never go there. It is a waste of time, most of time you could buy the same things new for the same price. :(

We recently got a Goodwill. Right next to the Save-A-Lot and the Family Dollar. I have only been in twice. Got a card that lets me save 10% at each visit. I need to go in and see if they have any unisex baby clothes and any twin fitted sheets.
