Can anyone give me any good tips ,suggestions, advice, or websites to help us save, stretch our money.
We are going to Pigeon Forge TN for a small vacation next week.

Well, we packed a cooler and took drinks, snacks, cold cereal, granola bars, bread, peanut butter and such for quick breakfasts and lunches. We pretty much only ate one meal a day out- which saved a ton of money.

We bought lunch meat at a local deli- just enough for one meal at a time, and we took along my electric skillet and a portable grill so I could do some simple cooking. Fresh fruits and veggies purchased at farmer's markets along the way , helped the budget too.

Carla,

If you can, depending on what you like to do, look online for any free art galleries, musical performances or events that may be taking place in that area during your visit. I know here in Burlington, every Thursday night there is a free concert in on of the parks next to the lake...they are great performers too...check to see if the town has a personal webpage and what they have to offer the public. Also check to see if they have a free local newspaper that may tell you if there's fun stuff to do...and ask the local people in the area...You may be able to find some really fun stuff for cheap or even free! Good luck and I hope you have a great time on your trip!

There is nothing free in Pigion Forge...lol....its like the most expensive place to visit.... anyway here's some ways to save there:

Stop at the welcome center-they usually have books and pamplets that have coupons for restaurants and area attractions. Your hotel lobby should have some to. Taking your own food would be a big money saver-even the grocery stores are high there (the taxes are 11%). Most of the hotels have contanital (sp) breakfast so that would be free. All the attractions are high but if you use coupons and plan carefully you can save money.

Some free stuff to do is riding up into the Great Smokey Mountains and just getting out and walking up and down Pigion Forge and Gatlingburg. We just live about an hour away from there and hardly ever go. We just can't see paying the outragous prices there for what you get. We went a few weeks ago for the day to take ds to the aquarium and have lunch and spent over $150-for one day!!

Anyway, I hope you guys have a good time and don't go broke...lol...
