Crock Pot Stew

6 thick tenderized minute steaks
Flour
1 1/2 tablespoon fat
Salt and pepper, to taste
3 tablespoons dry onion soup mix
6 tablespoons dry Au Jus packaged mix
3 cups water
3 tablespoons flour
Potato chunks, if desired
Baby carrots, if desired


Freeze steak until firm and then cut into 3/4-inch by 3-inch strips. Dredge with flour and brown in 1 tablespoon fat. Transfer to slow cooker and add:

Salt and pepper to taste, dry onion soup mix, Au Jus mix (from package) and 2 cups water. Cover and cook on medium for 3 hours or until meat is tender. Mix 2 tablespoons flour with water and thicken liquid. Serve over rice or potatoes.

I love crockpot stew Debbie. Nothing like coming home to the smell of stew simmering in the crockpot. Thanks.

This sounds good, but what are "minute steaks"?
