Ladies, try www.foodtv.com. It has at least one for homemade tortilla but I haven't tried it yet.

In the true hispanic sense Flour tortillas are made with the add some of this and add some of that fashion. So we never learn with exact amounts. In teaching my 11 yog to make these my DMIL sat and wrote down approximate amounts and this is her tried and true recipe, passed down to my 11 year old daughter. She has a tortilla making date every Saturday. Her dad, my DH just loves these. Enjoy!

5 cups flour
2 Tbls Baking Powder
2 tsp salt
1/4 vegetable oil
1 1/2 luke warm water

Mix dry ingredients thoroughly; add vegetable and water. Mix well and knead until soft and satiny; (like bread dough). Make into 12-16 balls; roll out flat and evenly. Cook on preheated HOT griddle about 10-15 secs per side. The hotter the griddle the quicker they cook.

Roundness comes from practice. ;)

Thick tortillas are a prize! My DH and family love the thicker tortillas. Just make your ball a little smaller and roll them out more. 1 up 1 down 1 back up again flip and turn 1/4 turn 1 up 1 down 1 back up again flip . . . until you get to your desired thickness or size.

But no matter what you do burritos will never be safe to eat w/hm tortillas. They just don't wrap and everything falls out.

I agree about the burritos lol Never big enough. I end up making chips with mine or enchilda casserole :)
