I have been holding off telling you all in case I didn't like it, but I got hired as a waitress at a family diner last Sunday. Today was my first day. :D

Needless to say, I ran my hiney off and didn't do too bad in tips but my feet have heart beats in them and my calves will be screaming in the morning!

I work again tomorrow from 2-9. It looks like 3 days a week right now and that will be perfect for me. :)

Good Luck!

Remember your feet will get better, and maybe you will tone up.

(Unless of course you are already a hard body)

oh - you are also gonna get coffee pot forearm!! An incredible burn that takes you awhile to figure out and suddenly you notice you have one popeye arm (try to carry the decaf pot in the other one so you look equally buff!!:)

WTG. I hope you really enjoy it. You might try support socks or hose to help your feet/legs. Couldn't do a shift at the hospital without my support socks!!

Hoping you enjoy your new job. Do you have some good comfy shoes? I waitressed when I was younger and loved it. The best was that there were so many other women that hated it, that I got most of the customers and the tips. :D

The best was breakfast. The place was similar to Denny's with the little stop clock that you set when you first take the breakfast order. lol I was flying around that place. We also got Amway conventions on Wednesday nights and I loved the tips from them. :D

Congratulations. :)

Careful Dee - Evidently there is some sort of "weird happening" around here where if you get a job - you might get pregnant- don't drink the water here... and watch out for that Kathryn cuz she already has both inflictions!!! LOL:duck:

Congratulations! I always wanted a job as a waitress, but there weren't any places around here hiring when I was looking. I'm sure you'll be great and clean up on the tips! :D

Thanks Ladies! :hug2:

I have waitressed before but it was 25 years ago! Came back to me like it was yesterday. :) Today I will be alone for a bit so that should be interesting. The hardest part is learning the prices. They have a large menu for a diner and serve anything you want at all times.

The food is fabulous and the coffee is out of this world! :lip: This is Jack's and my favorite diner to eat and the prices are cheap, especially for this area. Everyone seems pretty nice so I'm sure I'll get along well.

It is a 45 min dirve one way for me, but as I have said before, everything is. Price of living in the country. *shrug*

Heather (Goodwin17) are support hose similar to teds? I have several pair of those from past surgeries.

And yes Jack was grumpy again yesterday, he wasn't thrilled that he had to take my sis Kathy to her doctor's appt. Oh well, get used to it! :P

SewCrafty

Wasn't a long day after all, well in hours anyway. LOL I worked 6am - 2pm. Had to get up at 3:30 and didn't go to bed until almost midnight! :yikes:

Crazy day, but I made good tips! :yippee:
