Hi ladies!

I'm kind of worried about my new job -- I am going into the new Wal Mart to be a Dept. Manager and while I'm really excited, I've never met a Wal Mart that didn't make me want to SPEND EVERY CENT!!! So how am I going to handle NOT spending everything when I'm there every day?

Bright Blessings!

Just say NO :toothy:

I couldn't work in a wal-mart or a shoe store or any department store for that matter. I would be signing my pay check over to them as soon as I got it.

Good luck and stay strong :D

LOL..I wish I could help, but years ago I was a H&BA dept manager for Wal-Mart and spent all my check there too :toothy:

Just make a pledge to only buy the markdowns!

Maybe I can challenge myself in the challenge forum. That's not a bad idea.

Good luck on not caving in to all those enticing clearance bargains. I know that would be a very dangerous place for me to work!:toothy: Maybe that's why I work at a library. I get to check out all those cool books, videos, etc. for FREE!:D

I know it will be hard. I worked at Big Lots one time, and I was always buying all kinds of things. Good luck. Joining a challenge is an excellent idea. Get something to make yourself accountable.

until you know you have the willpower to not buy everything, leave you money, checkbook,credit/debit cards at home. only take your driver's license with you and brown bag your lunch. can't buy anything if you don't have the money.
i work at linens n things and i have found that because i have to look at this stuff all the time at work, i really don't want to see it again at home. most of the stuff i do buy at work is either something i have to replace like a cover for a comforter, or stuff that has gone on clearance for a really good price like the horseshoes set i got for my dad for Christmas.
i keep my eye out for good deals, but my wallet stays where it belongs unless it is a really good deal and something that is on my list of things i need, not wants. we also have a hold shelf we can put things on, so if i'm not sure i can put it on the hold shelf and i have until the monday after payday to buy it or put it back. if it's somthing i really do need, it will get bought before that monday. if it's something i don't need, i'll either have put it back after a day or two of thinking about it, or if i forget about it, the receiver will put it back when she cleans the shelves off on that monday.

Know the feeling...I'm a fashions associate at ...hehehe...The Big Red K...giggle...

I love clearance! That is one reason I work there! There is a bright side to this! I spent $51.00 on ds's school clothes...10 shirts and 5 pants... Then $75.00 on dd's...comparable amount.

2 years ago, I spent 200.00 each. I think I did well! There are perks!
