I haven't worked outside of being a very part time trainer at the gym since Aimee was born. Since I left my ex and now that I am with Bruce I have been trying to be as frugal as possible so I wouldn't have to go back to work til all of the kids had reached Middle/High School. I did work fulltime for a little while but when the kids were sick I would have to work anyway and they would have to just sit there at my job. It just wasn't worth the stress. But Bruce is normally just a freak about money - always worrying , not knowing how to cut out things that were entertainment related. I have a job as a lunchroom lady now (as you all know cuz I carry'd on about it) but it is an oncall position - very part time. I get $1000 a month for child support. I would not be so stressed about money all the time if Bruce weren't cuz I always cook everything from scratch, always keep the pantry full, make alot of our clothes and gifts. Basically live pretty cheaply. The kids are on free lunches which kindof hurts as far as taking from the state but otherwise we self-support. Yesterday Bruce and I were doing the mnonthly figures and he said "you know, I think we are going to be able to make it til after Christmas at least with you not working that much." I positively danced!! Our only real need right now is gutters for the house and with him and me doing the work that will be waaaayyy less than I had anticipated. I am so thrilled - See what I have learned from this website so far - :D

That's great!! I have been doing this too. I decided to quit the hospital in August and move to a home health agency. They hardly give me any work. My FH got a slight pay raise at work, and I've really been working to make it. I hope we can continue until I graduate.

Your post is exactly what I needed this morning! I have been so unfrugal lately, and needed some inspiration. Thanks!

I know just how you felt Kimmee, with just DH working things have really gotten tight around here. Dr. bills piling up thank goodness for insurance, and all the other household bills, not to mention the mortage. Sometimes I'm not sure we will ever see the light at the end of the tunnel, But alas I know we will, I just have to do more cut backs until it's done.

WTG you've done a splendid job
