View Full Version : I have an interview on Friday!

I had a phone interview this afternoon, and now I have a "regular" interview on Friday at 3 pm.

It's for a furniture company in Nashua...it's only PT, but it's night and weekend hours, and I'm not sure I want to take away from family time for it. I'd be working M & T 5:30-10 PM, every Saturday from either 10am -5pm or 4:30-10 and every other Sunday for 7 hrs.

I haven't interviewed with anyone in 10 yrs (been out of work force for 5 yrs now, and before that I was at the same company for 5 yrs). I'm really nervous about the interview, but I'm also really worried about making the right decision for our family. :dis:

at any rate - they'd be nuts not to want you on their team!!

Michelle, good luck with the interview. I agree with Debbie, you'd be a real asset to any business.

I had to interview quite a few people when I had my business. Make sure you look your interviewer in the eye, shake hands if you feel comfortable about doing it and smile. I think those three things set you up for the interview as being warm, friendly and confident.

Michelle, It is a difficult decision. I'm sure that whatever you choose, your family will be better for it. Good luck!

I know that you will do great in your interview...now you just need to sit down and have a heart to heart talk with your hubby and see if this is what you both are in agreement is best for your family.

I know this decision is a tough one. I know you'll make the best decision. I'm happy they called you and you have an interview. I'll support you whatever it is you do..whether it's this job, another job, or no job outside of home at all.

There are pros and cons to any of those decisions. I can't wait to see what you decide because I'm so excited for you.

I'm just thrilled that you're exploring options and am wishing you the best.

I never went. I called them the day before and explained that I had no one to watch my kids for the time where Dave would be still at work or on his way home. Plus Dave didn't want me to take it based on the amount of time I would be away from the family (3 nights a week, plus at least 1 full day on the weekends, every other weekend both days).

I wouldn't want to work evenings or weekends either. That is why I love working for the school district. We are gone the same hours of the day and on the same days. We leave together and come home together.

I am sure you made the right decision for you and your family.

Michelle,
Sounds like you made the right decision. I hope that something else comes along that fits your schedule much better.
