Today I went seriously garage saling for the first time ever...yeah, I know all the pros to doing this, but where I come from you don't sell your unneeded items, you donate them (said with a snobby tone) So anyway, now that I have embarked on my adventure in frugality I figure this is the one thing I have yet to do. Armed with small bills (I have learned so much from you girls) I went out in search of a childs dresser to refinish. Five sales later I was still without a dresser, but found the Graco Chauffeur Coach Rider Travel System by Graco--currently 229.99 in Babies R Us for $50, talked her down to $40 and now have exactly the system I want for less than 1/5 of the price and it is in great shape, I just washed all the fabric pieces and they are hanging to dry. I am so excited-can't wait for dh to come home.

Jerseygirl-all it takes is one great find. You'll be addicted for sure. Your Saturdays will now revolve around the yard sales-LOL. We had INCREDIBLE sales here today. We spent an hour in one development alone. We (mom and I) bought something at every house I think! Got great books for DD's, some Home Interiors stuff for eBay, a Mrs. Fields cookbook, I am broke broke broke, but happy!:toothy:

I took my boys along today since DH was at school. My friend, Cathy, went too. I gave the boys their allowance and three dollars more. They had the best time!

My deal of the day was a pair of tab topped curtains for my older son's room, NEW, still in the package, for TWO DOLLARS!!! The only other thing I bought was a set of sweat (pants and hooded shirt) for two dollars.

I just love yard sales but, has anyone else noticed that people are asking pretty high prices this year? Do you think it is because it is still early in the season or could it be just high prices in my neck of the woods?
