I have an approximately eight year old Teac 100 disc CD player that only works randomly - I have opened it and cleaned it and nothing appears to be disconnected. I am tired of taking stuff in, they keep it for a month and then tell you its irrepairably damaged so buy a new one. This was an expensive unit. It won't randomly select off more than 8 or so discs and it doesn't recognize half the discs that are in there. if I keep loading one it will play it - which makes me think its just dirty. The boys Playstation 2 was doing this and I opened it up took everything apart rubbed it all with alcohol and that canned air cleaner and now it works like brand new. Any thoughts??

Sorry Kimmee, I don't have a clue. If it doesn't deal with a sewing or knitting machine I am challenged! :D

Kimmee, sounds like the "eye" may be "blinking". In other words, the reader isn't functioning properly. I'd try to clean the eye of the reader, if that doesn't help then I dunno what to do.
