My d/w is on the fritz again. It's now leaking water onto my floor when I use it. This happened a couple of years ago too and seemed to fix itself as we didn't have problems with it again until now. Any ideas?

Also, any experience with the d/w not advancing cycles? We have to do that manually now too

Any ideas how to fix these problems?

hmmm - if it's one of the ones that is movable, perhaps the hoses are kinked...??

If it's a stationary, under the cabinet jobbie, I have no clue.....

:( Sorry Chelle.......

It's stationary--built in, but thanks Debbie :)

Chelle, is it a hose that might be leaking. Also could it be a worn washer at the top of the hose that is attached to the hot and cold water.

As to changing cycles, don't have a clue.

How old is your d/w?

I would suggest first cleaning the "gunk trap" if those holes are blocked with little bits of food, the water cannot drain out between cycles as needed, causing the water to build up and up until it leaks. Just an idea. :) (i have to remember to clean mine out periodically...)

It's only 6 yrs old, and we had problems with it after 4

Thanks for the idea. I'll take a look.

I am pretty sure Dave already did this, but I will mention it to him again. Thanks :)

You might have a trouble shooting web site for your D/W on the maker website. My old washing machine did.

We had a leaky dishwasher once and it was the seal around the pump....we were able to locate a used pump and had it replaced (in fact dh did that) for about $50. I would check the hoses first thing....that would be the simplest thing to fix. Check them while it's running....maybe you can see the leak if it's there. Also the other problem sounds like it's the timer to me. You *might* be able to find a used one off of an older (maybe the exact same model as yours) at a store that sells them. In our small town they install them, and they take your old one out for parts unless you want them to leave it for some reason. Most people choose to have them "haul it off" for them. Just a suggestion.

:hmmm: thats funny I posted here last night but now I don't see the post - anyone - I'll try again - Is it a lower end model of dishwasher - if so - it is probably the timer that has worn out - which is why it is not advancing through the cycles - these run about $15-20 at a locale warehouse parts factory outlet store. If it was leaking and it stopped it , and now has started again its is more than likely a tension issue on the hose clamp - when its bouncing around (vibrating) while its running the clamp loosens or repositions itself. Also under the obvious gunk trap is a plate and another little passage where yuck can collect - and if this is backed up your water maybe be backing up and running out from the dish compartment - which means your dishes haven't been getting very clean :yikes: for as long as this has been happening!

It's a nice d/w...not lower end at all, so I'm disappointed that we've had as much trouble as we have. I've been too busy (and Dave has too) to research this any further, so I'm going to have to wait to update you all until he can find some time to check it out.

Thanks for your input though :)
